ISMAS instituted three awards from 1991 to recognise "Eminent Mass Spectrometrists" at each triennial National Symposium. The award carries a gold medal, a citation and cash prize. In the past, awards have been conferred upon:

7) Prof. D.V. Ramana, IIT, Chennai (1996)
8) Prof. D. Mathur, TIFR, Mumbai (1996)
9) Dr. S.K. Aggarwal, BARC, Mumbai (1996)

At each triennial symposium, ISMAS identifies the Best Paper in each area of Mass Spectrometry and gives cash award and "Certificate of Merit" to the best paper. ISMAS also gives Best paper awards to research scholars during each Workshop. These provide incentive to the participants to improve the quality of contributions and presentations at the Symposia and Workshops.
