The activities of ISMAS are looked after by the president, the Secretary and the executive committee elected triennially by the ISMAS members. The past presidents and secretaries of ISMAS were: -
1)Prof. V.B. Bhanot and Dr. C.K. Mathews (1978 - 1985)
2)Dr. C.K. Mathews and Dr. H.C. Jain (1986 - 1991)
3)Dr. E.S. RajaGopal and Dr. S.K. Aggarwal (1992 - 1994)
4)Dr. H.C. Jain and Dr. S.K. Aggarwal (1995 - 1997)
Presently Dr. K. Gopalan from NGRI, Hyderabad is the president of ISMAS and Shri. V.K. Handu, from TPPED, BARC Mumbai is the secretary of ISMAS.
The highlights of different activities pursued by ISMAS are:-

e) Directory of Mass Spectrometers in India
f) Prizes and Awards
g) Other activities:- During 1999, ISMAS participated in the PITTCON Conference in USA by having an Exhibition Stall. This was possible through the efforts of Dr. K.V. Somayajula, Dr. G.Sudhakar Reddy and Dr. S.K. Aggarwal.
ISMAS also has joined International Spectrometric Society. This helps in providing information about ISMAS activities to all the members of International Mass Spectrometric Society.
